pernah nih, pas pengumuman masuk ptn, gue ditanya.

ibu2 : lulus dimana din?
gue  : alhamdulillah di USU buk
ibu2 : wah, hebat dina! fakultas apa?
gue  : pertanian bu..
ibu2 : loh kok masuk pertanian? nanti kerja susah loh? emang minat disana? nanti gak cocok?
gue  : ....

apa sarjana pertanian kerjanya bergelut dilumpur? enggak kan?

sehari tanpa beras, sehari tanpa makan, apa rasanya?

PERTANIAN!! SATU!!

EuroBasket - Swedes win to stay alive , sumber : www.fiba.com/pages/eng/fc/news/lateNews/p/newsid/68876/arti.html

LJUBLJANA (EuroBasket/FIBA Basketball World Cup) - Sweden boosted their chances of claiming a spot in the next round at EuroBasket 2013 in Slovenia on Saturday with an 81-62 triumph over Russia.
With both sides looking for their first victories in Group D, the Swedes rolled to victory.
Jeffery Taylor and Jonas Jerebko excelled.
Down 35-34 two minutes into the second half, the NBA duo combined for 12 points as the Swedes went on a 16-3 run to take command.
Taylor finished with a game-high 25 points and Jerebko added 22 with 13 rebounds, while Erik Rush (4pts, 7rbs) and Viktor Gaddefors (9pts, 5rbs) made important contributions.
The success was a great moment for Sweden, who are playing in the EuroBasket for the first time in 10 years, when they competed as hosts.
The country didn't win a game back in 2003.
"We are learning as we go ahead in the competition," said Sweden coach Brad Dean.
"You cannot learn unless you play against the best. We made some adjustments and it worked. Rush and Viktor were excellent."
With three losses in as many games, Russia, the bronze-medal winners at EuroBasket 2011 and at last year's Olympics, are on the brink of elimination.
Their hopes of grabbing one of the six spots on offer for the 2014 FIBA Basketball World Cup are fading fast.
"We didn't play as a team," said Russia coach Vassily Karasev.
"We didn't do a good job at all. We didn't really have a leader. We have to work very hard, both the coaches and the players."
In a battle of unbeatens that followed in Group D, Italy won against Finland, 62-44.
Gigi Datome was the lone Italian to finish in double digits in scoring with 10 points and he also corralled eight rebounds.
Andrea Cinciarini had a terrific outing as well, scoring nine points and pulling down eight boards as Simone Pianigiani's team improved to 3-0.
The game was played in a wonderful atmosphere, with many of the fans clad in blue after traveling across the Italian border to Koper.
"Congratulations to the fans of both teams," Pianigiani said, "the show in the stands was simply amazing. Players can feel this atmosphere."
Piangiani saluted the opponents.
"Finland pushed until the end," he said.
"I like their attitude."
Greece didn't put away Turkey early but eventually pulled away for an 84-61 win to stay unbeaten with the Italians at the top of Group D.
Yannis Bourousis had 21 points and Nikos Zisis 11 assists to go with his six points for the Greeks.
Turkey dropped to 0-3.
In Celje, where Group C is being staged, Slovenia stretched their streak of winning close games to three with a 72-68 victory over Georgia.
Domen Lorbek had three of the team's eight first-half three-pointers as the home side came back from 11 down to lead 44-32 at the break.
Georgia stayed within striking distance with Ricky Hickman (19pts) and and Viktor Sanikidze (17pts, 13rbs) making a series of wonderful plays.
The Georgians out-rebounded the hosts 45-35, but Slovenia held on for victory.
After a put-back by Besik Lezhava cut the deficit to 72-70 with 31 seconds left, Bozidar Maljkovic's team ran the shot clock down and the ball ended up in the hands of Zoran Dragic in the lane.
Dragic, who had made important shots in the second half in the win over Spain, scored with an eight-footer to make it a two possession game.
Georgia's last basket was not before the final buzzer.
The Slovenians moved to the top of Group C with the victory.
Spain put their defeat to Slovenia behind them and beat the Czech Republic, 60-39.
Rudy Fernandez had 14 points and four steals to lead the two-time defending champions of Europe.
"It was a difficult game and the final score was not a fair reflection," Spain coach Juan Antonio Orenga said.
"We were worried about their defense. We couldn't score easily inside so we had to look for other options."
Marc Gasol, guarded closely by Czech center Jan Vesely, scored just two points on one of four shooting from the floor.
The Czechs endured another tough night shooting the ball, making just 15 of 62 (24%) from the floor.
Pavel Pumprla and Vesely were the leading scorers with just seven points apiece.
"We couldn't score and make shots," Czech coach Pavel Budinsky said.
"We were nervous. I don't know why, but maybe we showed too much respect to Spain."
Poland suffered heartbreak for the second time in three days, falling to Croatia, 74-70.
Croatia exploded into a 20-point advantage but Poland dug in and led by Krzysztof Szubarga stormed back.
The Poles closed the gap to seven, only for Roko Leni Ukic to hit a jumper before half-time to take the lead to nine.
In the second half, Croatia again went back in front by 18, yet Poland came back again.
Two lay-ups by Szubarga, the second after he reached in and stole the ball from Ukic, cut the deficit to one.
Damir Markota then came up with the play of the game, following a miss by Ante Tomic with a put-back.
Poland next missed four attempts from the arc, the last from Lukasz Koszarek that rimmed out.
Bojan Bogdanovic had a game-high 23 points for Croatia while Michal Ignerski was sensational again for Poland with 22.
"I'm really proud of the team," Markota said.
"We were up 20 points but they came back to make it one point, but we made it and we deserved to win the game."

EuroBasket - Another wild and crazy day in Europe , sumber : www.fiba.com/pages/eng/fc/news/lateNews/p/newsid/68949/arti.html

LJUBLJANA (EuroBasket/FIBA Basketball World Cup) - Finland and Italy helped write another dramatic chapter at EuroBasket 2013 on Sunday by winning games in Koper to ensure they will advance to the next round, and stay firmly in the hunt for a spot in the 2014 FIBA Basketball World Cup.
The Czech Republic's dynamic duo of Tomas Satoransky and Jan Vesely, also put on an unforgettable show in Celje where they led their team past Georgia in Group C to stay alive in the EuroBasket.
It was Croatia, however, that came up with arguably the biggest result of the day.
Jasmin Repesa's team finally managed to let some of the air out of the Slovenia balloon by upsetting the host nation, 76-74,in an overtime classic in Sunday's last game in Celje.
Slovenia raced into a 13-point lead in the second half and looked set to pull away for a big win but Croatia held their nerve, got a huge 24-point, two-block performance from Bojan Bogdanovic and battled back to force overtime.
In the extra period, Damjan Rudez hit a pair of three-pointers as Croatia built a seven-point advantage.
Slovenia ended up with a chance at the end to pull level and force a second overtime after Ante Tomic missed two free-throws with four seconds to go.
They rebounded the second miss, whipped the ball up the floor to Domen Lorbek and he was fouled with 0.8 seconds to go.
He made the first first throw but intentionally missed the second, and Zoran Dragic was able to rebound the ball and push it towards the basket but was unsuccessful.
Goran Dragic had 23 points in defeat for Slovenia.
With Spain winning 89-53 earlier against Poland - they led 25-5 after the first quarter - the two-time defending champions are now on top of Group C on goal differential ahead of Slovenia and Croatia with all three teams 3-1.
Croatia still have some work to do to advance because on Monday, they go up against a confident Czech Republic team that won for the second time with a 95-79 rout of Georgia.
Satoransky had 20 points, seven assists and six rebounds and Vesely 27 points and 10 rebounds in the 95-79 win over the Georgians, who fell to 1-3.
Both Georgia and Poland (0-4) have no chance of making it to the next round.
In Group D, the Finns, after opening the tournament with victories over Turkey and Sweden and a heavy defeat to Italy, prevailed 86-83 in double overtime against Russia on Sunday.
Gerald Lee's dunk with 1:27 left put the Finns in front to stay.
Shawn Huff finished with 20 points and nine rebounds for Finland.
"We played against a great basketball country," Finland coach Henrik Dettman said. "We knew we would have it tough since the beginning, but we are improving a bit every day."
The loss has ended Russia's hopes of advancing, which means they cannot qualify for the World Cup.
Only the top six teams in Slovenia will advance to next year's tournament. If 2014 hosts Spain are in the first six, then the top seven sides will progress.
Greece, who sealed their place in the next round on Saturday, began as favorites against Italy on Sunday in Group D's second game but Simone Pianigiani's side won their showdown, 81-72.
Marco Belinelli had 23 points for Italy and Gigi Datome added 19 as the Azzurri stretched their unbeaten start to four victories.
"This is the win of my players and my staff," Pianigiani said. "Not mine. I am very proud of them. They did an incredible job."
The game feature two Italian coaches, with Andrea Trinchieri at the helm of the Greeks.
Turkey defeated Sweden 87-74 in Group D's other game.
There is much to still be decided in Group A, where France ended Ukraine's unbeaten run with a 77-71 victory.
Tony Parker poured in 28 points for the French.
Ukraine will now have to secure their place with a win against Great Britain, who improved to 2-2 with an 81-74 victory over Germany.
Andrew Lawrence, one of the Brits' Olympians from last summer, had 23 points in the victory.
The big surprise on Sunday in Group A came when Israel finally won a game, thrashing Belgium, 87-69.
Belgium will now go after their third win on Monday against France. But if they lose, they can still advance if Ukraine defeat Great Britain.
There have been plenty of fireworks in Group B, and the latest action there saw Bosnia and Herzegovina defeat The Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonnia (MKD), 62-54, with Mirza Teletovic pouring in 22 points.
Serbia and Lithuania are at the top of Group B at 3-1.
Serbia bounced back from their defeat to MKD by winning against Latvia, 80-71, and Lithuania won the last game of the night against Montenegro, 77-70.

JPN - Utsumi warns of danger ahead of Bangkok date , sumber : www.fiba.com/pages/eng/fc/news/lateNews/p/newsid/68958/arti.html

TOKYO (FIBA Asia Championship for Women/FIBA World Championship for Women) - Japan coach Tomohide Utsumi won't take anything for granted when his team head to the Thailand's capital of Bangkok next month (27 October-3 November) in pursuit of another FIBA Asia Championship for Women medal and the even bigger lure of a potential ticket for the 2014 FIBA World Championship for Women.
Whilst Japan have had something of a monopoly on the bronze medal in recent years within the Asian zone, the coach has warned that the traditional powerhouses of China, Korea and Japan will need to be on their toes if they want to avoid the crushing disappointment of missing out on a trip to Turkey next year.
"I think Chinese Taipei have energetic players and good strength," said Utsumi.
"So it is very possible they will be in the top three."
Such caution is well advised and should sharpen the focus of his players not only to watch their backs, but to also aim for a new shade of metal hanging around their necks - even if he is expecting a number of new faces to be lining up once he chooses his final roster.
"Our goal is always to be crowned champions," he explained.
"We have good enough ability to become a champion team.
"Some experienced players have left the team and younger players have been chosen.
"In fact half of players (practicing) are new, so we are probably going to become a new team."
Utsumi also stressed that whilst personnel may change in the final shake-up prior to the tournament tipping off, his coaching ethos and approach to the competition is unlikely to be altered much.
"There are no big differences," he reiterated.
"I want just want to increase the accuracy of our offense, use our quickness and strategically, I want to make good use of our good point guard players."
Despite the warnings of the threat posed by Chinese Taipei, the likelihood remains that Japan will have to try and get past China and Korea if they want to reach the podium summit and that will require Utsumi successfully pitting his wits against his coaching rivals.
"The China head coach is an experienced coach," he said of Tom Maher.
"He was coach for Great Britain and also for the Chinese national team at the Olympics in Beijing.
"The head coach of Korea has no experience as a national team head coach, but he has passion and he can utilise each of his players' character for his team."
In fact, the quality of the competition between the trio is so intense, that Utsumi believes it makes preparation for games at the global level much more straightforward.

He insisted: "I don’t think there is a big difference between (our approach to) Asian Championship games and World Championship games."

Utsumi and Japan will be doing everything in their power to continue testing their preparation for games at the global level when they step out in Bangkok on 27 October, eager to cement their place at the World Championship for Women next September.

FIBA Americas - Dominican Republic, Argentina and Mexico join Puerto Rico, qualify for Spain 2014 , smber : www.fiba.com/pages/eng/fc/news/lateNews/p/newsid/68954/arti.html

CARACAS (FIBA Americas Championship/FIBA Basketball World Cup) - The Dominican Republic , Argentina and Mexico on Sunday joined Puerto Rico in qualifying for the 2014 FIBA Basketball World Cup.
The four teams compiled the best records in the Second Round of the 2013 FIBA Americas Championship in Caracas, Venezuela to advance to Tuesday's Semi-Finals. Argentina will take on Mexico, before Puerto Rico face the Dominican Republic to determine who will play in Wednesday's Championship Game.
On Sunday, the last day of the Second Round, the Dominicans worked had to beat Uruguay, 81-72, and claim the second qualifying spot for Spain 2014.
Puerto Rico had secured the first on Saturday.
Jack Michael Martinez led the attack for the Dominicans with 17 points and 10 rebounds while Francisco Garcia had 13.
Esteban Batista paced Uruguay with 21 points and 13 points.
The Dominican Republic finished the Second Round with five wins and two losses, good enough for 12 points and finishing second behind Mexico.
Head coach Orlando Antigua talked about what it meant to qualify for next year's FIBA Basketball World Cup.
"We are very excited about qualifying to the World Cup. Our entire group and the federation of our country is very happy to have met the goal and now have a ticket to Spain," he said.
"I am proud because both the players and the leadership trusted me in giving me this opportunity."
The Dominican Republic last played in FIBA's flagship event back in 1978.
"The team work done by the players was amazing. We are here because they decided that Dominican basketball needed to be recognized by the world. They made the decision to let the past in the past."
In a win or go home game, the talented Canadian team - with six NBA players - could not make it happen against an inspired and more experienced Argentinian team, losing 73-67 to miss out on qualifying for Spain 2014.
Luis Scola exploded in the third period and finished with a game-high 28 points, while sharpshooter Selem Safar came off the bench to chip in with 18. Cory Joseph led Canada with 19 points and Andrew Nicholson added 17.
With the win, Argentina finished fourth in the Second Round, good enough to grab the last qualifying place on offer for the FIBA Basketball World Cup. It extends their run of consecutive appearances in the world class tournament to eight. They last failed to play in it back in 1982.
"I am very pleased to have qualified for the World Cup in Spain," Scola said afterward.
"Now comes the second step, which is to fight for the championship. To leave here as champions is a goal in all circumstances and with Argentina not being a team that has 50 titles, to win the title is important."
The game between Puerto Rico and Mexico had little at stake as both teams had already qualified for the Semi-Finals and consequently punched their tickets to Spain 2014.
Consequently, the Puerto Ricans did not play their best players and Mexico rested some of theirs but still had enough fire power to win the contest 66-59. Mexico finished first in the group, with Puerto Rico third.
Mexico last played in the FIBA World Championship back in 1974.
"We are very happy with how we finished. This is very important for Mexican basketball," Mexico head coach Sergio Valdeolmillos said of his team's qualification.
"Hopefully this World Cup qualifying helps the political forces once and for all to have basketball and organizational conditions.
"For me it is wonderful. We came with a clear objective to raise our level of play, mainly because Mexico does not have a background in basketball. But it is true that the wins over Dominican Republic and Venezuela made us believe we could compete on equal footing with the other teams."

In the last game of the Second Round, eliminated Venezuela and Jamaica played hard for the honor of the crowd in 'El Poliedro' Coliseum, with the hosts winning 95-85.
Hector 'Pepito' Romero played his heart out for the locals, finishing with 23 points, while Donta Smith was sensational with 20. Patrick Ewing Jr had 16 points to lead five Jamaican players in double figures.

CARACAS (FIBA Americas Championship/FIBA Basketball World Cup) - The Dominican Republic on Friday handed Puerto Rico their first defeat at the FIBA Americas Championship as they seriously outplayed them in a 99-84 win on Day 2 of the Second Round.
Jack Michael Martinez, the Puerto Rican executioner by tradition, had 21 points and 11 rebounds and Eulis Baez added 17 for the Dominicans who improved to 3-2.
Carlos Arroyo had 22 points for the losing team and John Holland added 16. The defeat saw the Puerto Ricans drop to 4-1.
Meanwhile, Jamaica's men's basketball team has surprised as much in Caracas as their bobsled team does at the Winter Olympics.
After making Puerto Rico work for their win and eliminating powerhouse Brazil, they proceeded to shock Argentina in an 81-75 win to start off the day's play.
The Jamaicans, relying on solid defense and an offense that made the most of their excellent athleticism, got 24 points from Weyinmi Rose and a dozen from point guard Akeem Scott.
Luis Scola led Argentina with 22 points, but missed key free-throws at the end. Facundo Campazzo added 12.
Jamaica improved to 1-4 with the win, while Argentina dropped to 2-3.
There was no surprise as Mexico continued to play well and got the better of Uruguay, 87-73.
Gustavo Ayon did his usual damage in the paint, finishing with a team-high 17 points for the winners with 17 points, while Hector Hernandez added a double-double of 13 points and 10 rebounds.
Uruguay, a team with a very short rotation of players, were once again led by Esteban Batista who had game-highs of 25 points and 19 rebounds.
Mexico improved to 3-2 and Uruguay dropped to 1-4 with the result.
In the last game of the day, tournament hosts Venezuela played outstanding defense on a disoriented Canada team for a 64-59 win that sees them stay perfect in the Second Round with two wins in two games.
Nestor Colmenares came off Venezuela's bench to pace them with 13 points and David Cubillan had 12.
Cory Joseph had 14 points and Tristan Thompson went for 12 points and 20 rebounds for Canada.
On Saturday, Mexico take on Jamaicas, followed by Argentina going up against Uruguay. The Dominican Republic face Canada before Puerto Rico square off against hosts Venezuela.
The top four teams in the Second Round will advance to the Semi-Finals and also qualify for the 2014 FIBA Basketball World Cup.
